Firefox and other browser support coming soon

We've noticed a few comments about Firefox support so I wanted to address that quickly.  Currently we've released this beta with IE6 support only.  We want to gather user experience feedback before we go live to the rest of the world.  A very small portion of IE6 homepage users are being directed to the beta page, so if you're one of the few who were automatically pointed to the beta page, welcome.  We'd love to hear what you think of our new page.

We're anticipating full support for Firefox soon, including all interactive options.  Other older browsers likely won't have the full functionality supported because of limitations in their javascript support.  We'll also have a downlevel page with all the default content, but no ability to expand/collapse modules or add stocks and weather or other modules.

Please leave comments if you have thoughts or suggestions.  We'd love to hear what you think.

    Thanks,

    Kerry D. Woolsey,
    MSN Portals PM

PS:  This is my favorite theme . . . LIME!

Certain parts of the site are unsupported in Safari; I can't change my passwords because that particular page is unsupported in my browser. I currently run exclusively on a Mac, and am fusterated that internet companies are not taking the growing use of Macs into their process of creating usable websites.

Clear your cookies, and your browser cache, and type in msn.com, and it will go back. When you are finished give these jerks the finger for hijacking your browser, and change your homepage to yahoo or mozilla or something that doesn't hurt your eyes. To me just going back to the old page, and forgeting what they did doesn't solve the problem. Not only did they hijack your browser without asking, when we as a majority told them through feedback that we universally hated this new page, they simply said that they knew what was good for us, and we would like it in time. Well I don't know about you people but I do hate it, and I don't need these jack@sses telling me what I like. So long Jerks!

I read that you can change the color from that annoying white to 5 other themes you have, but I don't see that option anywhere. Is that because I'm using Firefox?

I, too, use Firefox due to the problems with spyware, and I will never - EVER - go back to IE. In my opinion, the new MSN homepage for Firefox browsers leaves much to be desired. I realize that, to stay 'on top' of new technology, change is necessary. I am hopeful that once an improved support network from MSN is in place for us Firefox-ers, the homepage will be . . . how do you say? . . . better? The old homepage has so much more to browse and seems to filter catagories together in a way that is easy and interesting.

I will keep MSN as my homepage for now. If I hear one more thing about the reception of your customers to change, that's it!! Please do not insult my intellegence - I wouldn't insult yours, and - in fact - am giving you the chance to 'change' again beforing calling it quits with MSN.

Thank you for the opportunity to relay my feedback. This is important to me. Will you listen as I have?

Thanks for including me in your Beta testing. I actually appreciate the opportunity to give feedback. And my feedback is that this new site looks and behaves horribly with my Firefox browser. I don't use IE because of the popup and spyware problems I and everyone else in the world has with it. Please provide some kind of Firefox support and I'll be better able to offer and opinion.. ...

If the new home page is the one I saw before coming here... ugh! I am familiar and happy with the old homepage. Not everything has to be changed just for the sake of change; where DO people get this idea? And, Ask4MrBiggs, if dull and boring is your idea of "the leading edge of development", all I can say is I'd prefer not to be "led" into something that's going to put me to sleep just looking at. The homepage I'm familiar with is full of articles to view and easy to navigate. The only improvement it needed was more choice of colors, like Yahoo has.
